Cocoa Brown Gentle Bronze

A while back, I shared with you a sneaky peek of the new Cocoa Brown products. Since then I attended the official launch of the three new products and today I am sharing my thoughts on the new Cocoa Brown Gentle Bronze.

Gentle Bronze is a gradual self tan that moisturises your skin and allows you to build up your colour from a light tan to a nice bronze colour.

Now, I will put my hands up and admit I have never ever been a fan of gradual tans. I love the idea of them and have tried low end and high end ones.I always found they had the typical fake tan smell and found them very streaky. With this experience, I have to admit I was a little dubious when I heard Cocoa Brown were launching one. I really wanted to like it as I'm a huge fan of the brand and Marissa.

On opening the tube, I was faced with a milky brown lotion, a lot paler than the 1 hour tan and a different consistency but I expected that.

I applied Gentle Bronze in minutes and wasn't left waiting ages for it to dry. I applied it before bed and woke up with a very light glow. I like a darkish tan but I liked the effect. That evening I applied another layer and left it over night. The result was a lovely bronze colour. No orange in sight but then I knew that wouldn't be an issue.

Here's a colour guide going from no tan to after two applications.

I really like Gentle Bronze. I think it's a great introduction to anyone who is a little afraid of the idea of fake tan and it is also great for just before you head on holidays to build up a little colour. Myself and the hubby are planning a June holiday and without a doubt, Gentle Bronze will be getting used before I go away and getting packed in my luggage.

Have you tried Gentle Bronze or any of the new arrivals yet? Next on my list to try is Lovely Legs
Gentle Bronze has an RRP of €5.99 and is available from your local stockist

Small Dessert Feast

Last Friday, I had a bit of an insane baking day. My sister in law was having a housewarming and I offered to make some desserts for the party. I'm really loving baking lately so it wasn't too stressful.

On the menu was
  • Chocolate Fudge Brownies *I don't have a square cake pan so had to use a circle one. Not exactly traditional but they had a lot of fans on the night*

  • Triple Chocolate Cookies and Chocolate Chip Cookies
  • Cupcakes with both Vanilla Buttercream and Chocolate Buttercream

Everything was made from scratch including the buttercream. I've always been afraid of buttercream as it never turns out right for me but thankfully I found a brilliant recipe on youtube that turned out yummy.
If you'd like recipes for anything above, please feel free to ask.
